Mary De Morgan (1850 – 1907) was an English writer famous for her fairytales, although she also wrote short stories. She was influenced by Hans Christian Andersen, but she didn’t necessarily include a happy ending to her tales, preferring a sense of morality. She became a renowned author, even if she never earned a lot of money from her work. “The Necklace of Princess Fiorimonde” is one of her most famous stories.
