A truly unique piece of work and if you connect with the wavelength of the underground man's cognitive patterns, you will find it greatly disorienting and haunting even. A true extintial nightmare. In the author's note, Dostoevsky warned about people like the protagonist which left me puzzled throughout the novel and till the end. Was he capturing parts of his self and experiences ? Or was he critisizing people or intellectuals he knew ?
