Adeline Virginia Woolf (1882 – 1941) was an English writer. She is known for developing the stream of consciousness as a literary device, as well as for being a pioneer of modernist literature. She explored themes of war, religion, morality, sexuality, mental illness, and feminism. Her novels and essays influenced literature, and are still studied to this day. “Mrs. Dalloway” and “A Room of One's Own” are among her most famous works.
