Daniel Defoe

Daniel Defoe (1660 – 1731) was an English writer and journalist. He had many experiences such as working as a merchant and a spy, which influenced his writing. He mostly wrote realist and adventure fictions, often presented as fictional autobiographies. His novels explore themes of survival and morality, and they helped lay the groundwork for modern writers. Defoe is most famous for his novel “Robinson Crusoe”.
